Here at the Revs, we try to be appropriately humble. Nobody likes a bragger. But I have also always loved the famous quote from baseball great Dizzy Dean: “It ain’t bragging if you can do it.” So in this case, allow me to brag a little, because York’s professional baseball team did it. We recently scored a pair of No. 1 customer-driven rankings. And, frankly, in my eyes, that’s almost more important than the on-the-field championship we won last season.
For starters, the York Revolution now ranks first among 49 things to do in York on TripAdvisor.com, the world’s largest travel website. This is especially meaningful because this ranking comes from thousands of customers over the past several years who have sampled “Revs Time” – our name for the special hours you spend at PeoplesBank Park with family and friends on a beautiful summer evening. We have very high standards for ourselves, and it’s gratifying when those pay off.
We were also recently named the “Best Sports Experience for Client Entertainment” by the readers of Central Penn Business Journal, beating out both the Hershey Bears and our Atlantic League rivals, the Lancaster Barnstormers. This one is also gratifying because we have worked very, very hard to hone our customer service, food and beverage offerings, and ballpark environments. Game after game, I hear from our customers what a great job our hospitality team does. We’re not perfect, but that’s what we strive for. And when for some reason we don’t get it right, we are committed to making it right. I find that that’s the attitude that people appreciate more than anything.
So thanks – thanks for the recognition – it’s nice for our hardworking group of full-time and game-day employees to get this well-deserved pat on the back for what they do game after game.
